Virginia K. Cargill, President
Ms. Cargill has more than 25 years of experience in the consumer packaged goods and in-store marketing industries, both as a client and a service provider. As President, Cargill is responsible for the development and expansion of CBS Outernet, helping to secure the company's digital signage solution in major grocery chains nationwide. Previous to her current role, Cargill was a founder-principal of New!Communications before the company was acquired in 2002 by CBS Outernet (formerly SignStorey.) Prior to that, she was the president of Lamaze Publishing Company, now renamed iVillage Parenting Group after the company's sale to iVillage Inc. in 2001. Cargill has also held significant leadership roles with in-store communications provider ActMedia, where she helped develop and manage in-store promotional products for more than 12 years before the company was purchased by News Corporation. Cargill began her career at General Mills after she received degrees from Wellesley College and the Northwestern Kellogg School of Management.
Doug Bivona, CFO and Senior Vice President
Mr. Bivona brings more than 20 years of financial and management experience to the company. He is responsible for managing the financial and operational structure of the company. Before joining CBS Outernet, Bivona was a senior vice president of finance and operations for iVillage Parenting Network, Inc., an on-line media service company for women. In this position Bivona was responsible for the oversight across all aspects of finance, sales and production operations, helping to boost revenue growth and encourage the sale of the company in 1999. Previous to working at iVillage, Bivona held a variety of positions at ActMedia, Inc., an in-store advertising and promotion company, which provided him with a solid understanding of the in-store media landscape. Bivona received his CPA in 1984 and is also a member of the AICPA and New State Society of Accountants.
Stuart Jacob, Senior Vice President, Programming & Partnerships
Mr. Jacob brings comprehensive, in-depth experience of the television network and marketing industries. Jacob is responsible for initiating all of CBS Outernet's strategic alliances and licensing contracts while developing and maintaining the company's positioning platform through an array of marketing and communications programs. Before joining CBS Outernet in 2004, Jacob was a principal for New Voice Media, a programming and management company specializing in business and content development and sales and marketing functions. Prior this role Jacob held a variety of vice president positions in which he governed communications and marketing operations while spearheading alliance building with industry partners. His employment roster includes WPP-funded Visible World, GE Capital American Communications, Inc., Alphastar Digital Television Network, Prostar Entertainment Network and TVN Entertainment Corporation. Jacob is a frequent presenter at television network and marketing events, and has received a variety of awards, including the GE Capital Pinnacle Award for Excellence. Jacob received his bachelor's degree from Excelsior College in Albany, New York.
John Pagano, Senior Vice President, Consumer Insights
Mr. Pagano is a well-known researcher in the in-store and retail industries. Pagano is responsible for establishing testing techniques and norms for the in-store industry and executing research methods for measuring the effectives of in-store digital media. Before joining CBS Outernet, Pagano held research positions for digital media companies including Floorgraphics, Inc. and ActMedia, Inc. Previous to these roles Pagano worked in the consumer packaged good (CPG) industry for 15 years honing his research skills to include concept testing, new product development, copy testing, test marketing and analysis, attitude and usage/segmentation research and strategic research and analysis. At the beginning of his career, Pagano held positions at Sterling Drug Company, Shell Oil Company, Chesebrough-Pond's and Richardson-Vicks (now known as Proctor & Gamble). Pagano often shares his in-depth, specialty research experiences at various conferences and forums.
John H. Stevenson, Senior Vice President, Business Development
Mr. Stevenson brings more than 25 years of in-store marketing and retail sales experience to the company. At CBS Outernet, Stevenson is responsible for driving new business in new and existing markets. Previous to his current role, Stevenson was the vice president of business development at Productivity Solutions, Inc., the leading provider of lane-based self-checkout solutions that was sold to IBM in 2003. Stevenson gained ground in the in-store media industry as the head of sales and marketing for Superfridge, the producer of freestanding merchandising displays for frozen and refrigerated product in major supermarket chains. He was also a charter employee of ActMedia, Inc. where he worked for 17 years in various sales and marketing management positions. Stevenson received a bachelor's degree in history from Trinity College in Hartford, Connecticut.
Jeffrey A. Martin, Senior Vice President, Operations
Mr. Martin has been a part of CBS Outernet's development since its founding in 2001. In this current role Martin is responsible for all implementation and installation activity including sub-contract services and product material procurement. Martin started with CBS Outernet as a vice president of operations helping to roll out pilot programs and develop content and implementation. Prior to joining the company, Martin held managing partner roles at construction companies including Martin Construction and Ocean Meadow LLC. In these positions Martin was responsible for managing a variety of subcontractors and employees, and helping both companies expand service offerings and revenues. Martin began his career with Digital Equipment Corporation in the system operations analysis department. He received a double major in business administration and economics and a minor in computer science from Colby College in Waterville, Maine.
Todd Becker, Senior Vice President, Business Development & Technology
Mr. Becker has 20 years of technology, venture capital, management consulting, and operations experience. Becker is responsible for network operations, and technology and product development. Prior to CBS Outernet, Becker was managing director of Next Generation Ventures, a Connecticut-based venture capital firm building seed-stage technology companies, including CBS Outernet, then known as SignStorey. Prior to NextGen, Becker was the founder and managing director of PomeGranate Ventures, a venture capital and consulting firm. During this time, Becker helped launch or grow seven technology companies, three of which went public or were later acquired. Becker was also a principal with Pittiglio, Rabin, Todd & McGrath (PRTM), a leading management consulting firm serving technology-driven companies. He also worked for Texas Instruments, General Electric, and Hewlett-Packard as a technical sales rep, design engineer and process engineer, respectively. Becker received his bachelor's degree at Worcester Polytechnic Institute, and Masters in electrical engineering and business from MIT's School of Engineering and Sloan School of Management. |
